STEP BY STEP “Combo Jazz”

From NEW OCTOPUS 87 in 2025, with its 19 musicians, we now return to a very young sextet drawn from the beginner CHAM classes at Léonard Limosin secondary school. Still under the direction of Gaya Jouravsky within the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Limoges, this ensemble is carefully and respectfully finding its footing in relation to the demands of the repertoire. From great standards to bossa, from swing to groove, this training provides the solid and essential foundations for developing a passion for this musical aesthetic, rich with a century and a half of music ranging from Blues to Rap.
In recent years, we have been able to appreciate the results achieved by students of the Limoges Conservatoire à Rayonnement Musical at the end of their training, and now well beyond our regional borders. “Step by Step Combo Jazz”… certainly step by step, but with great strides nonetheless!
