A rebellious enfant terrible who refuses the codes of jazz, daoud imagines a music driven by a feeling of inadequacy, one that unsettles frameworks without seeking to please and speaks as much to curious newcomers as to purists.

The whole is crossed by the same tension: between playfulness and gravity, chaos and softness, irony and sincerity. With ok, his new album released on ACT in 2025, he signs a personal manifesto tinged with falling down and repetition—but also with the self-denial it takes to start over again and again.

All around the music, the artist builds a raw visual universe marked as much by provocation as by youthful letting go, a return to childhood not for reassurance but to unearth contradictions. Fragility, impermanence, satire—the aesthetic embraces the flaw rather than hiding it.
On stage, daoud and his group toy with the rules, moving between restrained lyricism and shockwaves. Since the release of GOOD BOY in 2024, acclaimed by critics, they have followed one sold-out concert after another and made memorable appearances, from Ronnie Scott’s in London to the Montreux Jazz Festival, by way of Marciac.
