Created three years ago at the Bordeaux Conservatory, Stablemates are a jazz quartet that combines depth, virtuosity and boldness. Made up of Clément Calles on the guitar, Mathieu Cochard at the piano, Francisco Vicente Da Silva on double bass and Dylan Choisi on drums, the group offers an exciting musical experience in which tradition blends seamlessly with modernity.
Inspired by iconic figures such as Pat Metheny and the Next Step Band, Stablemates musicians borrow as much from lyricism as from complex harmonic progressions. Their world stands out for a rich array of influences, mixing the bewitching rhythms of the West Indies, especially Guadeloupe, with the sounds of Bebop and hard-bop.
On stage, Stablemates combine the spontaneity of improvisation and a complicity in interaction, the fruit of several years of collaboration. Their music invites to a journey through genuine compositions and modern re-interpretations of standards.
