This 20th edition of our Festival will allow you to discover several revelations, all composers, who will be tomorrow’s big names, Justina Lee Brown, D. K. Harrell, Léa Maria Fries, Giorgi Mikadze … This will again be the case for our closing concert with American singer Christie Dashiell. Very scarce appearances in France since 2024, the year of her first concerts, but already a great success and an important career development in the US over the past few years. Her album, “Journey in Black”, released in autumn 2024, strongly emphasizes Dashiell’s nature and strengthens her reputation in the musical sphere. It has been rewarded with a five-star review by Downbeat magazine. Christie Dashiell is a singer and songwriter born in Washington, DC and comes from a family of musicians who influenced her to sing from an early age. Today, her ability to improvise and her scat technique are really amazing. Her range, spanning from a powerful singing to soft and sensual vocal harmonies, asserts her full ability to be recognized as one of the most sought-after artists of the international jazz scene. Her composing skills allow her to express her favourite themes, freedom, heritage, grief, joy and of course love, a love that captures both soul and body. A deep spirituality that she dresses up with groove, swing and soul, much to our delight. An exceptional closing night !
