On 17 November 2026, the Jean-Gagnant Cultural Centre will host the premiere screening of Christie Dashiell\u2019s concert, as part of the 20th Festival \u00c9clats d\u2019\u00c9mail Jazz Edition.<\/p>\n

This screening will shine a light on the powerful and refined world of one of the great voices of jazz, recently revealed on the international scene.<\/p>\n

Saravah is not a documentary, but a document.
\nIndeed, Saravah is not a didactic film about the history of Brazilian music in the 20th century, but the historical film in which all the Brazilian stars of the future are approached with simplicity by Pierre Barouh<\/strong>. Exclusive access to the original tools carefully preserved by MuPop \u2013 the Museum of Popular Music in Montlu\u00e7on \u2013 and to Django Reinhardt\u2019s legendary SELMER guitar, kept at the Museum of Music at the Cit\u00e9 de la Musique in Paris, enabled luthiers G\u00e9rald Alonso and Fabian Le Dosseur \u2013 the project\u2019s technical directors \u2013 to carry out meticulous reconstruction work based on an in-depth study of the historic models.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Their quest for precision made it possible to rediscover the wood assembly secrets that made these guitars so successful, while also modernising them. Remaining faithful to their sonic identity, these instruments now benefit from optimised ergonomics and greater playing versatility thanks to the integration of an amplification system.

In a minimalist setting, stripped of all artifice, the film immerses us in the musical world of Michel Portal<\/strong>, the acclaimed composer and multi-instrumentalist who defies categorisation. More than a portrait, A Few Notes on Freedom<\/em> is a sensory journey into the artist\u2019s inner creative workshop. The camera captures the moment of invention, follows the fragile thread of improvisation, and explores the ever-shifting territory where music is born. Rarely has a film come so close to the creative process: gestures, breaths, silences, flashes of inspiration\u2026 The viewer is drawn directly into the musician\u2019s mind, into the unpredictable flow of his ideas, where joy, vulnerability and solitude intertwine.<\/p>\n
