Music is for me like an open table: a space for exchanges, encounters, get-togethers, generosity. A place where guests meet and get together, with an endlessly renewed pleasure. From large gatherings to more intimate meals, my musical itinerary is lined with such meetings, like so many precious moments of which I want today to keep a living trace. I have imagined the repertoire of this new album, “Traces”, as one creates a festive menu, and in order to celebrate our journey together, I have brought together my friends Franck Jaccard (piano), Emmanuel Lajudie (drums), Philippe Parant (guitar) and Guillaume Souriau (double bass) around iconic pieces of the bop repertoire of the 50s, performed in trio, quartet or quintet. We have had the great pleasure to be joined on this adventure by Frédéric Chiffoleau (double bass) and Arnaud Lechantre (drums), whose presence has only added to the flavour of those moments marked with the seal of friendship.
