Rozann and Robin met in the summer of 2023 and did their first gigs together in various projects. From their exchanges about music, politics, their work as artists, the desire to lead a common creation project was born, a creation that would combine their compositions and their musical backgrounds.
They were joined by Nicolas Girardi on drums and Jasmine Lee on double bass and formed the Hormê quartet, Hormê being a goddess of the Greek mythology who personified the setting in motion, the impetus and the rush into battle.
Influenced by the English scene (GoGo Penguin, Portico Quartet) and modern jazz (Esbjörn Svensson trio, Real Feels), the quartet draw their inspiration from rock’s eagerness and combativeness, from pop and the lyricism of illustrative musics, to deliver a poetical jazz, both intimist and committed.
In 2024, they won the Action Jazz prize following their performance at the Rocher de Palmer for the 11th edition of the Action Jazz Nouvelle Aquitaine springboard and Rozann Bézier was awarded the soloist prize.
