The AMG quartet aims to sweep their listeners’ ears by opening the “door” to musical consciousness and to sensory pleasure. Yusel Lateef, Joe Chambers and Abdullah Ibrahim are major musical inspirations for the group, both in their way of playing and in their way of composing and orchestrating. The latter still shows power and abstraction, but also sensitivity, research and intuition. Also/likewise very inspired by the music of McCoy Tyner, Jackie McLean, Pharoah Sanders and Ornette Coleman or Joe Henderson to name but a few, AMG members constantly swing between energy and subtlety, tradition and exploration, offering with each performance an intense emotional journey.
